The end of 2012 was a very busy time for the EFF with Fund raising events including Strictly Come Dressage and our Art Exhibition in Mayfair!! The year ended with the Foundation being one of the chosen charities at Ian and Vicky's Christmas Masquerade Ball at Ashdown Park Hotel! Strictly Come DressageSTRICTLY COME DRESSAGE was yet again a great event with even more amazing costumes and fabulous acts which helped to raise £4,500 for the EFF. Special thanks to our Sponsors 'EQUINE SUN-SWITCH, Specialists in Horse Solariums and to Ian and Vicky for providing Oldencraig Equestrian Centre and their staff for the day. Our Professional riders Peter Maddison-Greenwell, Claire Lewis, Team GB Vaulting Squad, Susie Anderson, Matfield and District Riders and friends and Side saddle expert Belinda Wilkins. The Panel of Strictly Judges consisting of Emile, Vicky, Amanda Birch and Simon Blake had a difficult time deciding this years winners but overall Individual Champion 2012 was GEMMA SWANN riding her own Blue Gemm 11, very much deserved after being runner up in the past 2 years!! Her performance of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory was very entertaining and a very polished performance and was riding side saddle. Strictly Pas De Deux Champions were Amy and Buddy Williams riding Horton's Pink Panther and Old Park Rose with their' Masque Danse with very close runners up Francis Wilson and Stephanie Fairbank with their DISCO performance!! Quadrille winners who gave a very British Themed performance were Emily Fort, Naomi Sharman, Ellie Ress Davis and Elsie Hogben. Our Junior Strictly Champions were Sophie Preston riding Twyford Extravaganza who gave a very amusing performance of St Trinian's school girl equal with Blake Clement and Libby Balmer whose theme was Bling!! Local Riders award for Best Costume went to Nicola Whiteman on her Springtime as Mary Poppins and fittingly was their last performance together as she is now retiring Spring. Charity Masquerade BallCHARITY MASQUERADE BALL held by Ian and Vicky Winfield at the Ashdown Park Hotel was a fabulous evening. The Foundation was one of 4 Charities chosen to benefit from the Ball and the amazing Auction that Ian had put together. Emile is delighted that the Foundation will be receiving a substantial amount from this event and extremely grateful to Ian and Vicky for their continued generous support. Art Exhibition "I found horses..."ART EXHIBITION - 'I found horses....'
Held in Mayfair at the beginning of December the EFFs 2nd Art Exhibition was a great success not only raising more funds but also awareness of the great work the Charity is doing. Over two Private Viewing Evenings 300 Guests enjoyed our Champagne reception that was kindly sponsored by Rasshied Din from Chelwood Equestrian Centre, and viewed the stunning Art and Sculptures on display. A number of purchases were made on both evenings and the Silent Auction of paintings by Huw Williams and Elizabeth Armstrong were sold raising £8000!! Artwork is still available to buy for those who could not make it (see examples of pieces in our gallery (which is well worth a visit, and you can listen to Emile's welcoming speech)), there is also an album which can be viewed on the EFF's Facebook page.
