Individual Championship1ST and overall CHAMPION NICOLA WHITEMAN on SPRING TO GLORY. Nicolas' theme MARY POPPINS was awarded 10s by 3 of the judges and her costume was outstanding. Made by her Mum Dawn many painstaking hours went in to the final costume. Nicolas' first year in Music competitions also won at the South East and London Championships. Wonder what she will think of for next year!! 2ND GEMMA SWANN on BLUE GEM . Their theme was 'STRICTLY COME DANCING' performed side saddle Gemma went through 3 types od dance removing a layer of her skirt at each change of music, very entertaining and well thought out Gemma won the Dance section in the afternoon and was just behind Nicola in the evening. Gemma has had Gem since she was 18 mths and competes her at Advanced Medium level astride! 3RD AMY PUGH on LYNWOOD EXECUTIVE . Amy made the long journey down from Warwickshire to compete and her theme was BOLLYWOOD. A stunning costume , hand made sari and Indian jewellery Amy also won Best Costume Award for the evening. Amy also raised money for the Foundation in the summer when she did her 12 hour sponsored ride! Amy competes successfully in Dressage at Advance Medium level and is a keen member of BYRDS. 4TH SAMANTHA BOXHALL on PARKLANDS PHOENIX. Samantha's' theme was the WEDDING and she rode side saddle in a beautiful wedding dress complete with veil which she raised as she went down the centre line! Phoenix is a 16 yr old Irish cob on whom she competes very successfully side saddle. This year Sam was invited to the European Championships as part of the side saddle display team and regularly competes in France in the Summer. 5TH DEBBIE ROBERTS on ACE OF BASE. Debbies theme was Tina Turner complete with signed pictures which she handed to the judges at the beginning Debbie gave a convincing performance as Tina! Debbie regularly competes and rides her Ace at Advance Medium level. PAS DE DEUX CHAMPIONSHIPS.1ST JAYNE POWELL on DERECK FAN DE GREIDEPLEATS and JANICE POWELL on FRESNIO QUIN. Getting their own back at Simon Cowell their theme was JEDWARD TWINS from the 'X' FACTOR. Very entertaining and well choreographed they gained very high marks on their Freisan horse (owned by Toni Terry) and Andulsian horse. 2ND NICKY MURRELL ON HORTONS CORNER and BUDDY WILLIAMS ON OLD PARK ROSE. Their theme was MOULIN ROUGE. Amazing costumes and an exciting performance they were only pipped into second place . Even with a black out half way through their performance they managed to repeat their test again without a hitch. 3RD - FRANCIS WILSON RIDING LANDER and AMY WILSON ON HORTONS PINK PANTHER. Also part of the Moat View Quadrille they had to make a quick change of costumes to appear as CARNIVAL QUEENS STRICTLY LATIN ! Again stunning costumes and gaining an award for best Dance Music they were very entertaining. Francis regularly competes in Dressage but has also been a member of Moat Views Championship Quadrilles for the past three years! 4TH - SARAH WILLIAMS ON ADEMAR and PIPPA DREW ON PRINCE CHARMING Performed PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Very atmospheric complete with smoke machines at the beginning and helpers handing out leaflets on the musical in the audience they gave a great display at a high level of dressage. Both Pippa and Sarah compete successfully up to Intermediare 1 level Dressage. 5TH - KIRSTY MEPHAM and MADDI BURCELL gave a polished performance as FAME - OLD AND NEW!! Kirsty is a well known trainer in the area and rode her new exciting Dressage horse accompanied by her pupil Maddi on her Spainish horse. Well choreographed and entertaining. ALL THE PERFORMANCES WERE OF SUCH HIGH QUALITY AND THE MARKS WERE VERY CLOSE SO A HUGE THANK TO EVERYONE ON THEIR EFFORTS AND TAKING PART!
