One of the students from our project in Stoke -on- trent had the fantastic opportunity to spend a weeks work experience at Heath Farm in June. Amy who hopes to have a career with horses' spent the week with the team and Emile and had a wonderful insight into what it would be like to be working and involved in a top competition yard. Amy was enthralled and inspired by the week and hopes now to continue her riding and her dream of working with horses.
It is amazing that now after nearly 10 years of the EFF existing we are now seeing young people come through to school leaving age and because of the EFF are able to seek a career with horses - what an achievement !!! Emile is very excited that the BBC are making a documentary about the EFF. The EFF have been funding courses' of lessons at Ryders Farm in Bolton.
One of our featured pupils had problems at school which resulted in him being excluded and taught at home - struggling he was able to have some riding lessons and developed a love for horses' - we were approached by his mother who was desperate for him to have the opportunity to ride and the EFF stepped in - since then he has blossomed and the BBC heard of his story so are going to be filming him - he will visit Heath Farm and spend time with Emile and his horses. WE WILL POST DATE / TIME !! |
