Fund Raising'Strictly Come Dressage and Extravaganza' weekend was a great success in mid November held at Oldencraig Equestrian Centre. Saturdays classes were well supported and all the competitors had a great time and loved their fabulous rosettes, sashes and prizes so many thanks to our sponsors for the day – Ricky Gache Farriers, Four Elms Equestrian, Area 8 Side Saddle Association and 'Stacarto Playgrounds'. On the Sunday our classes were full for the Strictly Come Dressage Championships and as usual the costumes were amazing and very entertaining!! Judges by our Celeb panel of judges which consisted of Emile, host Vicky Winfield, Genesia Rosato – Prima Ballerina from the Royal Opera House Ballet and Tim Hatley – West End Theatre Set and Costume Designer ! The standard was incredibly high and our overall winner was Katheleen Botting with Bristol Blue who performed an amusing display of becoming a Dressage star form a Milk Maid , her display included a clever costume change mid- way and was performed side-saddle, Pas De Deux former 2012 Champions Amy and Buddy Williams repeated their success and won yet again!! Quadrille Champions performed their version of 'My Fair Lady' ridden n Ex Racehorses and were delighted to win their Glitter ball!! The Gala afternoon also consisted of displays from Luistanos' showing their skills, Moat View Riding Club gave a display of their 2012 National Championship routine and to the delight of the crowd a very amusing Panto horse performed a hilarious dance routine. The audience were also treated to a short Masterclass with Vicky and Emile taking her horse through Grand Prix movements. Emile was delighted that one of the EFFs projects from the Coop Academy in Stoke made the long journey down with a number of children who were thrilled to meet Emile and enjoy the day at Oldencraig. Thank You'sA huge thank you to Ian and Vicky who yet again let us use Oldencraig's, facilities for the weekend and to all their great staff! Equestrian Art Exhibition - ' I found horses….'Was held in Henly-on-Thames at the beginning of November – the Gallery was kindly secured for the week by Artist and Sculptor Judy Boyd and her agent Iain Blunt. The Gallery looked stunning and a number of pieces were sold and we still have some work for sale which will be put on the website. Emile hopes to move the Exhibition back to London for this year. Thank you to all the Artists who supported the Foundation and to all those who visited and bought some pieces. A Winter Charity Ball which was organised by Sam Geddis from ULS Dressage and Jaqui offen was held at the wonderful location of Port Lympne Mansion near Folkestone in November. The evening was a sell out and they had a fabulous evening and raised over £2,000 for the Foundation which will help to fund a new project through 2014. So a huge thank you to all involved!
Also a big thank you to all those who donate over the year – you are the unsung heroes without you the Foundation would not be able to continue its work and improve and change these childrens' lives for the better. Please consider holding a fund raising event through 2014 - from a coffee morning to a Ball or Show we would be most grateful and of course will support your event in any way we can – THANK YOU !
